How can I improve my connections ? ( 56k Modems Only )

USRobotic (Telepaths) Modems S32=98

	x2 on, V.90 off	x2 off, V.90 on	Both off	Both on*
Sportster**	S32=66	S32=34	S32=98	S32=2

To decrease the speed of the modem and disable 56k use the following string :

&F1&U1&N16S32=98

U1 = the floor connect speed at 2400 meaning the modem knows not to go lower than that.

N16 = the ceiling connect speed or the highest the modem will connect at as described below.

16= 33,600
8 = 14,400
3 = 2400 ** this is the lowest you can go - from this setting its line noise.

* Using AT&F1 in the init string automatically enables both protocols.
**Non-U.S. Robotics modems that use x2 generally use the same commands as the Sportster

Rockwell +MS=11,1

V.90 preferred (K56flex will still work)*	+MS=12,1
V.90 only, K56flex and V.34 disabled*	+MS=12,1,34667,56000
K56flex preferred (V.90 will still work)*	+MS=56,1

* X = the ceiling or highest connect speed. Insert your own speed here -
example - 33600 or 28800 or 14400 or 2400

For PC-TELL chipsets S37=12

The Motorola SM 56k modem is an HSP based modem.
