Welcome To the Macintosh section of the Support
Site:
Important Notice for Macintosh Users
- If you have a Macintosh computer that is below System 7.1 and
have upgraded to System 7.1 or higher. There is a very good possibility
that you may have trouble with your Internet connection. Although
Airstream Tech Support has tested the software extensively, Tech Support
has seen only limited success on Macintosh Systems that were not BUILT
with System 7.1 or higher.
- If you have a Macintosh with System 7.1 through 7.5, you may
need to purchase Mac TCP from Apple, or a local software vendor, before
you can connect using Config or Free PPP software. Mac TCP or TCP/IP is
REQUIRED before being able to make an Internet connection.
- If you have a Macintosh with System 7.5.x and TCP/IP, but still
cannot make a stable connection, you may need to contact Apple and
obtain the patch/update for your TCP/IP Control Panel. This patch
updates TCP/IP from 1.0.6 to version 1.0.8 or 1.1. Information obtained
from Apple suggests that a reliable connection to the Internet CANNOT be
made with Macintosh TCP/IP version 1.0.6 that may still come on some
Macintosh computers below System 7.5.3
- If you need any software mentioned above, you will need to
contact a local Macintosh software dealer or Apple Computers. Airstream
Tech Support CANNOT supply users with Mac TCP or the patch/update for
TCP/IP.
